A Scholar depicts through photos her internship in Louisiana

Bettina Hansen is a photography intern at The Hartford (Conn.) Courant. She was a Spring 2009 Chips Quinn Scholar at The Advocate in Baton Rouge, La. A journalism graduate at Arizona State University, Hansen was a staff photographer and assistant photo editor at The State Press, her school newspaper, and was a photo intern at the East Valley Tribune in Scottsdale, Ariz., in the fall of 2007. After graduation, she completed a Pulliam Fellowship during the summer of 2008 as a photographer at The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, then in fall was a Web-producer intern in online sports at the Republic while working on a post-graduate project on border issues at ASU.

Hansen created “A Chipster in Louisiana,” chronicling her orientation and internship experience through photos.
